Hey, I'm Theresa! I'm so excited for this new project---back in the day, I belonged to quite a few paranormal forums/message boards. It just made sharing info/experiences and actually interacting with each other so much easier, lol. Anyway, I'm the Theresa behind Theresa's Haunted History of the Tri-State blog, and I'm also a lead investigator with Spectral Research and Investigation (SRI), based out of Huntington, WV. I live in Putnam County (part time in Winfield/part time in Hurricane) and have a 12 year old son who is just now realizing that what his mom does is actually kinda cool! My paranormal interests are mainly within the realm of ghosts and hauntings, but I'm trying to expand my knowledge and experience in the ufology/cryptozoology/overall Fortean strangeness areas as well. I also personally lean more towards an interest in a historical perspective, along with a folkloric one as well. I love preserving West Virginia's spooky stories, but I also love to break them down and spend hours poring over old documents and scanning through microfiche in order to find any historical proof to back them up. When I'm not doing 'paranormal stuff,' which actually, is most of the time...I keep busy doing mom stuff. My kid plays baseball and has been taking jiu-jitsu lessons for 6 years. I also like to read, geocache, swim, research my genealogy, and play with my two kitties and our little beagle girl. Thanks for having me; I'm excited to start seeing more and more posts here!

The West Virginia High Strangeness Collective or simply (The Collective) began as a research arm of Wild & Weird WV which quickly began to expand beyond WV by networking with other researchers. The goal of the Collective is to share with the public data on sightings and encounters as well as to promote artists and multimedia providers which focus on growing the paranormal community. Through the use of this forum we hope to increase the networking opportunities for all enthusiasts and we hope this shines a light back on West Virginia as a leader in serious initiatives to propagate and grow the interest in paranormal research and foster the expansion of para-tourism both local and abroad.
